Ever since Break Free Fest 2024, both bands knew they wanted to do something together in the future. A little over a year later, No Model and Pilau are back with three new songs each.

Following up the “W.A.A.D.” EP, No Model continues to build on their fast, pissed, and politically informed hardcore punk sound. Lyrically, they call out international adoption agencies, American politicians, and boba liberals.

They’re not your model minority.

In Hawaii, “Pilau” is slang for “dirty, filthy, especially of a bad smell.” That works for the band’s type of grinding hardcore.

The band members come from “D” groups such as Dawntreader, Drivel, and Drugs of Faith as well as an “M” for ex-Magrudergrind, among many others.

Pilau recorded two 7 inches and a cassette previously and is back in 2025 with a split 7” with No Model. Pilau’s side packs crunch, groove, and speed and makes a potent, loud mix.
